Zheng Bo will discuss his practice and thinking on cultivating ecological wisdom in the age of Anthropocene extinction. He has been drawing plantÌýneighborsÌýdaily on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. He engaged in conversations with scientists during his residency in Berlin in 2020 and made an experimental film titled “The Political Life of Plants.” He has been collecting and designing “EcosensibilityÌýExercises.” He continues to organize workshops to collectively envision more-than-human futures.

Committed to more-than-human vibrancy, he investigates the past and imagines the future from the perspectives of marginalized communities and marginalized plants. He grows weedy gardens, living slogans, eco-queer films, andÌýwanwuÌýworkshops to cultivate ecological wisdom beyond the Anthropocene extinction.ÌýÌý
His works are in the collections of Power Station of Art in Shanghai, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Singapore Art Museum, and Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. Zheng Bo studied with Douglas Crimp and received his PhD from the Graduate Program in Visual & Cultural Studies, University of Rochester. He taught at China Academy of Art from 2010 to 2013, and currently teaches at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, where he leads ³Ù³ó±ðÌýWanwuÌýPractice Group.ÌýÌý
